"Not the right way to handle it"

Quote:

Trespassing teens who died after shootout with homeowner were armed with handgun, machete. Mom of one teen says shooting them was 'not the right way to handle it.'

Police said the pair of trespassing male teens who broke into a Northglenn, Colorado, back yard and died after a shootout with the homeowner Sunday were armed with a semi-automatic handgun and a machete, KUSA-TV reported.

Police said Wednesday two juveniles broke a fence to gain entry into the back yard and garage-like structure attached to the home, the station added.

One juvenile had a semi-automatic handgun, and the other had a machete, police told KUSA, adding that both weapons were recovered from the scene.

One of the juveniles and the homeowner exchanged gunfire, police told the station, adding that it's unclear who fired first or how many shots were fired.

Both juveniles were shot and taken to a hospital, where they later died, KUSA said, adding that the homeowner was uninjured.

Police believe the same juveniles burglarized a nearby home just hours before the shootout, KCNC-TV reported, adding that the airsoft gun was the only item stolen from the home.

So what is the right way to handle two guys breaking into your house with a handgun and a machete?

Unleash a pack of hungry, triggered pit bulls?

The right way to handle it would be to give
the mothers of the criminals several million dollars
in a lawsuit settlement to shut them the hell up.

Am I the only one paying attention? ;)

Final line of the story:

"Police will present the results of their investigation to the district attorney's office, which will determine what, if any, charges are appropriate, KUSA said."

Depends on whether or not this is a Soros D.A.?

It is hard to imagine a better way to handle it...unless it was for the mother to keep her evil little animal at home and teach him to behave versus making excuses for his behavior after the fact.

How would the mother (or anyone) handle two strange men they came upon in their dark back yard...one with a machete and the other a semi-auto handgun? Apparently, one also had a stolen airsoft gun they stole from another home that night (that would probably look like a long gun in the dark).

That was about the only way to handle the situation.

Fint, it probably wasn't a dark back yard. It happened in the afternoon. .

Police said that around 2 p.m. officers were called to reports of menacing and trespass when they found two juvenile males suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital where they later died.

I think they should charge the parents with assesory to a crime for raising the little bastards. Much the same way they charge gun manufacturers after a shooting.

This, scream children and release the pits.

Seems like a perfect ending to me..........

Gogar 10-09-2022 04:52 AM

Was it fully-semi-automatic? I hear those are very dangerous

jhynesrockmtn 10-09-2022 05:44 AM

I don't currently own a gun but stories like this and stuff happening locally have me thinking of attending some training and getting one. I feel no sympathy other than for the homeowner who had to go through this.

Alligators. Hungry alligators.
I quite like pit bulls and starving them to make them attack seems cruel. Alligators otoh would do the job and in wouldn’t feel one bit bad.

Perfect way to handle it. Kill the armed thiefs. Eliminate them from the gene pool.

masraum 10-09-2022 07:10 AM

There's a difference between poor judgement and armed robbery/burgulary.

If you do serious deeds, there may be serious consequences.

If 2 people break into your property with a machette and a gun, you have to assume that they are dangerous, potentially deadly.

I've been saying this for years. Until parents are held responsible, they will make excuses for bad behavior.

Based on what I read, the kids had a gun (non-airsoft) and a machette and then stole an additional gun (the airsoft) earlier that night. The article was written such that it could have been a little confusing if you didn't read the whole thing or were just skimming it.

he's reading what he wishes it said.

machete. Ha, reminds me of that joke about "Never bring a knife into a gun fight."

Good shooting on the part of the homeowner!

Eh...an airsoft generally looks like a real gun in the daylight as well...and they were shooting at the homeowner with a real semiauto. I suspect that most people would not hesitate to shoot someone attacking them with just the machete. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
