Chris Harris, drive a new 911 GT3RS
Most likely even if you can afford it, you can't get one. It is just astonishing to see what 38 years and a few bits of engineering have done to my old 85 911. ![]() Personally I think Chris Harris is the step above all the other automotive journalists. All of them seem to want to drift a car, which I thinks is totally stupid. Drifting is NOT fast, and in fact the slow way around any paved track. Great for dirt tracks or in the snow.

Chris Harris is definitely one of my favorites! If you haven't seen Henry Catchpole's stuff, you should give it a look too.

Apologies to the OP in advance.
Sorry but I stopped watching the video just before the test drive. Chris Harris was cool. Not so much now. The yellow G Shock was a bad idea. If you know the history of that watch in black you may understand why... It felt like I was watching an aging reporter that's trying to stay relevant and Chris is not that old! The car??? Yea great... I'm not in love with the way it looks but no doubt it must drive very well. However I'd bet the gearbox is still "Made in Japan". ![]()

$300k over sticker if you don't want to wait is the word on the street. Sticker is $350k-ish, depending on options. Yeah, the world has gone crazy and very rich for some.

They're basically a toy and therefore they do have value.

Love Chris. Absolutely the best out there. Could listen to him talk about anything all day long. The guy is so quick and so smart that he makes me feel like a moron.
Watched the video last night. Cool car. Prefer the GT4RS though

As an owner of a 3RS, the aero changes made in the 991 and continued on in the 992 are crazy. I think they make the care a lot less attractive, but hopefully the folks that buy them are tracking the crap out of them.
All that tech is impressive and cool, and Harris does a good job showing his excitement over it. Its not electric so I am not surprised at all that the cockerspunk doesn't see any value it. I had not heard they are asking that much over Denis, wow. I guess you really have to own the latest and greatest to even consider paying that. I liked seeing it wasn't a manual, that keeps the 997 as the last manual RS. |

For entirely selfish reasons, I hope Porsche sells 100s of thousands of new GT3 RS cars and that destroys Viper ACR prices!!

I'm grateful that cars like this are still being produced. The way things are going, they may become forbidden. (edit) Not that I have any desire for one. But I object to those who want the power to forbid such machines.

watched both videos recently and enjoyed the heck out of them. don't care for the rear end on the car at all but these guys seem blown away about the capabilities.
still wish for a green 997 version.

Yeah, yeah, I know it's all there for a reason and all functional blah, blah, blah. But all the black plastic appendages look like they raided the parts bin for a 2002 Chevy Avalanche. Good if you're at the track. A bit you're-trying-to-hard for the street.

they are like a toy still in its packaging.
because you cant play with them. on the street they are worthless, and you can't afford to crash em, so driving them at the limit at the race track isnt really a thing. and they arnt legal as race cars either. Last edited by cockerpunk; 10-06-2022 at 06:05 AM.. |

Isn't that why there's a GT3 touring, GT3, and GT3RS? I'm sure there are plenty of GT3RS on the street. I've seen them. As you said, hopefully, they are also getting to the track. That's one of the great things about Porsche is that you can drive them to the track and home (and on the street if you want).
