They just went for a bike ride…

Four guys go out for a bike ride and don’t come home. Relatives said they like to ride their bikes together.

Dismembered bodies of before found floating in the river. Evidence of head shots.

Turns out they went to do something nefarious and paid the price.

https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/17/us/oklahoma-missing-bikers-dead/index.html

Investigators now believe the four men planned to “commit some type of criminal act,” Prentice said in Monday’s news conference, citing a witness who told investigators they had been invited to join and to “hit a lick big enough for all of them.”

Additionally, police searched a scrap yard Saturday in Okmulgee, Prentice said. While “nothing remarkable was observed” inside, Prentice said there was “evidence of a violent event” found on an adjoining property.

They weren’t spandex wearing bros on a Sunday fitness ride.

These guys were a little (lot?) sketchy.

Anytime I see an adult riding a BMX bike down the street, I think DUI.

Apologies to real BMXers.

Four thirty-ish year old dudes leave home on bicycles at 9 pm for a "big lick" and then turn up shot and floating in pieces in the river.

I'm sure they were just going door to door for religious reasons and knocked on the wrong door.

I think this is one of those cases where amateur criminals should not try to screw with professional criminals.

I never see adults pedaling to or from work locally--but a fair number of people walking a remarkable distance. I often wonder if bicycles are off the DUI transportation menu too.

The police have confirmed it is murder. Well duh. Four adult men chopped up into bits was not suicide or an accident.

They should have called it a heart attack, like in the old vampire movies.

4 men shot, then chopped up and dumped in the river. It could have been an elaborate plan for them to leave their families insurance money. I'm sure they all had big policies!

Perhaps some organized crime involvement? Tried to rip-off a better prepared victim? Brought bicycles to a gunfight? Poor dumb bastards.

Friends of the Clintons?

I'm sure they were very nice boys who didn't deserve that. They were probably selling candybars door to door to raise money for Sunday school.

What a horrible event and we'll probably never know why or how.

They have arrested the guy they suspect of being the murderer. He had a stolen car and was caught in Florida and is being extradited back to Oklahoma.
