Any Mopar guys that can value a car for me?

69 Coronet RT, 440 4 speed

Pretty dry georgia car, runs and drives, triple black car but one pretty crummy respray probably in the 90s when they weren't worth much. I'm not sure where the guy is price wise but he knows what it is and it's all there, nice original interior, headliner, badges.... didn't check the fender tag but I assume it's there. I'm assuming it's numbers matching from the story I got but not 100%. Runs and drives. What are these things bringing? Being a Coronet and not a Charger I actually think that's pretty cool but price wise it's going to be charger money. Any ways just thought I'd ask here.

Thanks, first place I checked, not enough comps.

I think this is more of a mopar geek car than a bring a trailer/ mecum/ barrett jackson type car.

A range is ok, just need to see if I'm in the ballpark.

Without any pics of the car, it is difficult to give a value. Is there any rust in the car? What does the underside look like? Was this a garage kept show car or somebody's daily hot rod? Have you driven the car? Does it run and drive? how many miles are on it? I'm guessing that it might be valued anywhere from 20k to 35k, depending on over all condition. Check trunk, quarter panels, bottoms of fenders, rocker panels, and floor pans for rust, pretty much the same areas for all older cars. Don't "assume" anything. When looking at the car in person, take a magnet with you. You stated that the paint job wasn't very good so, that will definitely affect the value. Good luck.

Well,
I have my 71 440 Charger for sale. I am asking25k.

Only minor hits on my FB Marketplace and “For B Bodies Only” forum. I would recommend going on the “For B Bodies Only” and posing your question. Lots of experts there, and good people like Pelican.
Good luck !

You definitely need to decode the VIN, a ton of normal mopars were converted to R/T clones over the years.

Up underneath its pretty dry, no obvious signs of rust or panel replacement, according to the current owner it was off the road for decades but I'm not 100% sure of the mileage

I think i'll get a closer look in the coming weeks as my excitement wears off and I can be a little more pragmatic about it.

I've been on there just didn't want to be that guy who joins a forum, makes a post then never shows up again. Lots of good info even for just a forum lurker though.

It's the real deal I just think it might be sort of a niche mopar and not up there with a charger or a highly optioned Coronet. I'll update the thread accordingly when it's officially for sale and/ or if I end up buying it.

A Coronet R/T 440 with a 4 speed is a very cool car. I'd put it right there with any Charger.
By the way, that 71 red Charger looks great!!! I love that body style.

The Coronet R/T and Satellite GTX were Dodge and Plymouth's respective top of the line "B" bodied performance cars. A step above the Super Bee and Roadrunner. Both were only available with either the 440 or the Hemi, and were some of the first cars MOPAR offered with disc brakes (on the front only). Back when I was heavily into MOPARs (late '70's through the late '80's), these were towards the front of the line as far as desirability. I have no idea what the market is today, but this should be a good deal more valuable than a Super Bee or Roadrunner.

This picture is from the early '80's. At the time, I owned the green '69 Super Bee and a couple of buddies owned the orange '68 Roadrunner and the red '67 R/T. The R/T was a 440 automatic, the other two were 383 four speeds. I owned each of these at one point or another. Wish I still had at least one of them.

Again, the ONLY way to know that is to decode the vin.

We had a 70 Coronet my dad bought when he graduated college that year. Was a 318 3 speed car but I remember it.

If a classic car's value is tied to matching numbers, good luck and find someone who understands the car and the game.

A couple of local guys swapped out the VIN and valuable options from a rare, neglected Camaro into a more reasonable example. The car was eventually sold. No idea how much disclosure took place then or since. Another local-ish, well established shop got a law enforcement visit after a disgruntled employee pulled the covers off an engine block restamping operation. Game over for that second generation restoration business and its owner--as it should be.

This is probably as close as I'm gonna get to ever owning a Coronet R/T. Lol.

That's such a great picture!

Maybe I'll start a thread for photos like this!

Damn--an ask of 25K seems like a good deal for a 71 with a 440.-I see hood pins, front spoiler and go-wing--does it have the Hideaways? 727 auto? gear ratio, mileage?

Yes, it has hide away headlights, 727 automatic, 323 rear (peg leg), and shows 89k.
