I don’t think your clutch plates are worn out, they may be swollen to the point that they are out of spec. I think on the 750 a good stack number is 1.08 inches, but you might want to double check that. I got all of my Norton parts from Baxter cycle. They pretty much carry everything for Nortons and are some good people to deal with. Colorado Norton make some great aftermarket parts, but are a bit pricey.

One last thing, back in the day, enough people complained about the effort it took to pull in the clutch lever that Norton finally gave in and changed the fulcrum point on the lever mount. I think this was back in 1973. So your bike probably has the old style lever mount. In this picture, the old style is in the back and the newer in the front.

Picked up this nice cafe style seat for the bike recently. Old one was original and you could feel the seat pan. Original is in amazing shape though.

I want to make a stencil of the Norton logo to add it to the seat.

Nice seat and I think the answer to you r stiff clutch is Rot 911's post about the newer style clutch lever. I never had a pre 73 Commando so didn't know.

BTW if you want to see another Norton part look at the "Breaker Bar" #22 post and you'll what I use for power bar

THank you. While I didn't really get along with my Step-dad, I think he would have appreciated this. If you want to get extra sappy, since most of my tools are metric naturally, the hand tools I'm using on this bike were given to me by my step-dads father back in the late 70's or early 80's.

Those are the tools I'm using to fix this one up.

That’s a beautiful bike!
What an amazing transformation from your first post.
For whatever reason, I’ve become a big fan of the 60s and early 70s drum braked twin bikes.

Well one thing you won't have to do is to take the missus for a ride "Sorry, no room for a pillion passenger."

It looks really nice with that seat. Really nice with everything you have done!

Thanks all. I have kept the original seat as Mom has agreed to ride on it once more this spring. How can I say no?

@Rot 911 if I were to get this clutch setup - would I still need to mess with stack heights? For $160 it hardly seems worth the labor....
