Who Has Tajen Shock Absorbers On A Plane
Purchased some Konis .. want to take them on a flight San Francisco to Honolulu
I’m getting mixed answers on whether TSA will be cool with that even tho shocks have a non hazardous inert gas within. Anyone got an experience to share ? |

I brought a set in my checked baggage last year LAX>YYZ. Nobody said boo. I didn't even think it would be an issue.

I don't own a plane...but when I do, it will be a HondaJet with Tajen Shock Absorbers.

In checked luggage you should be fine. Don't try to have them in carry on luggage. They could be used as a club, so they will not want them in the cabin.
You might be safe and put the receipt on top of the shocks. If they x-ray and then open the luggage, they will know what they are.

I once had brake pads in my bag and the girl kept saying “there’s something very dense..”. Eventually I got to play show and tell and say “oh, totally forgot about those filthy stinking brake pads”

I've been thinking that they must be Chinese. But maybe you're right. Maybe they're Japanese.

I'd planned to use Monroe Gas Magnums on the front and Monroe Air-Max on the back.

I've been known to take fireworks through the metal detectors way back when before the body scanners.....
Put them in a box as if you were shipping them and check them...

I assume you mean "with you in the cabin" ? probably not. If in checked luggage it's fine. If TSA says no when they probe you, are you gonna let them throw away your $$ shocks or miss your flight ? I guess not worth the risk
