MSU forfeit all games this season and next two seasons. Prosecute and incarcerate. Reduce
scholarships for 10 yrs by the number of players involved in the battery(s). No 'transfer portal' for any involved, as well as for any standing around not stopping the battery(s). Being a good person doesn't necessarily mean not being a bad person; a good person would stop the bad act/actors.

Student athletes? Thugs adopting the privileged professional athlete mentality.

Time to nip this ***** in the bud. Cull the bad.

There's too much $$$ involved to not just make the issue go away. Forfeiting the season feels like the right thing, but that's not going to happen.

I'm a sad michigander - grew up going to games in Ann Arbor and nearly went to MSU for college. This is not good, and it's also reflective of a greater "we good, they bad" behavior that is springing up everywhere. Just sad...

Not much of a fight. Looks more like a pile on to one Michigan player by the MSU guys.

LOL. IF they even get suspended, they'll still be picked up by an NFL team, so what does it matter? Just hard to fathom that sports society has come to this.

I don't see it mentioned in any news article about how long the suspensions are for?

One game? The season?
It's going to look real bad if it's for less than the season.

I suspect for some of them this was just a warm up for prison.

Anybody know what %age of college players actually end up in the NFL? I'm guessing...maybe 10%?

Nothing like throwing away your (hopeful) career in one stupid move.

Even at that, the average career is 3.3 years. So even the vast majority of those who get drafted better have a "plan B".

In the early 1980's I worked out with a guy who had played for the Seahawks as a safety. Lost his job to Kenny Easley, a future and relatively long lived Seahawks star. My workout partner spent maybe two years in the league. In the four or five years I knew him, he never even got a tryout offer from another team. He didn't work, still living off of his couple year's worth of earnings in the NFL. Had absolutely no idea where to turn next. No thoughts about using his "degree", as far as he told me, never even pursuing a career in whatever it might have been. He was at least smart enough to realize, or maybe was made to realize, that employers saw young football players with "degrees" for what they were worth. Zilch. I think he wound up back in his college town using his name to sell cars.

Pretty sad. These kids are no more than livestock, race horses, to those making the real money off of them. As such, these kids who got suspended will be quickly replaced and forgotten. "Back in the day" (however long ago that was), at least they had coaches that demanded and instilled some level of discipline, so there were some "life skills" taken away from their experiences. That's been missing for a long, long time, though.
