Adblocker Ultimate

I downloaded this a month or so ago. It's been working great...until today.
I'm getting pop-up boxes from them saying I need to purchase a key license to keep it working. The charge is only a couple bucks a month...but I'm not sure if it's legit.

I don't want to give my cc number to a scam.
I know this is a common blocker...anyone been seeing this?

Is it a stand alone app or a plugin for a browser?

If it's a browser plugin, there are others that don't require a fee.

I just now removed the AB Ultimate.
The user comments on their site are full of recent similar problems.
Ad Blocker has answered most of them with "we are working through some problems"

So...I will wait a few days and re-load it.

Here's the message they keep repeating for each comment...

"We've received reports that users are not seeing the block element feature. Please know this is completely unintentional and we are working on a fix for it. It is still a free feature. Stay tuned for updates and let us know if you have any further questions."

Thanks

Ive been using AB ultimate for years and have never had any pop ups asking for payment. Has to be a scam or you may have a virus. Do not give a CC number.

Go with uBlock. actually free, and works well.

I removed it...I don't mind the fee, if it's legit.

No fee before...then all at once there is...sounds fishy to me.

I'm hesitant to use my cc on anything like this....it will result in recurring charges and prob increases.

uBlock Origin and Ghostery here.

I rarely/almost never see ads on my computers, just the content I'm going there for.

In fact, it's quite disturbing to use a browser on my phone w/ no extension - and see just how infested with ads the same sites that I'm used to seeing entirely ad-free actually are...
