Oops, I just realized my typo in the heading, obviously it is supposed to say "Drag Race".

Haha, I fixed it!!!
I view this forum on my phone through an app called "Tapatalk" and it doesn't allow editing so, I went to the actual online forum and was able to edit the title, pretty cool, and now back to our regularly scheduled program...

Yeah, that Lucid Sapphire is wicked-awesome-hellafast!!!!

I like these videos they are well done.
17 cars tested that ran from 9.1 to 11.8 ET.
How would that list be shuffled by a completed lap time?

In an entire fast lap if current #1 car came in #6, and the #7 came in #1 who would be fastest?
Does anyone choose a performance car for 1/4 mile ET only? (Hellcat/Demon drivers excepted)

They should test both ET and lap time and combine the results for an overall winner.
Do a slick video of each car running a lap alone and then make a video displaying where each turns or stops and accelerates best.

These tests are not conclusive, this video only shows 1/3 of the performance capabilities of these cars.
Until that happens I can only drive some of them on my iracing sim to judge.
With these ET results will iracing soon offer a Tesla or a Lucid?

They often, or at least, in the past, did do accel runs as well as laps, and maybe even braking back when Camissa, Pobst, etc... were making nearly identical vids for MotorTrend. I don't know if they/Haggery still do that or not. It's probably a lot more expensive to do laps (insurance, etc...) so they may skip it. And while a full review would be better, I'll still click these sorts of videos.

I get it, but the focus of the video was a drag race not a road race.
Gotta say, I'm more impressed by the Ducati and the rider controlling that thing.

Agree absolutely the bike takes operator skill.
All the modern car results are predetermined by software engineers.

No doubt, only a handful of top pros can pull those times on two wheels. The cars are all just giant horsepower computers and the operator just floors the go pedal and steers. Most any 10 year old can do that. No special talent needed whatsoever.

I have seen one Plaid "in the wild" but never a Bugatti on the streets. The Lucid is new, but it is unlikely I will ever see one. I have seen lots of Ferraris, Mercedes Maybach, Lambos and other exotics on the streets. Of course as a PCA member I know people with a lot of high end Porsches, and they all get driven. Not that me seeing a car on the streets is any measure of a car, except sales numbers and price in Oklahoma. Not a metric the magazines are likely to include on any list.

Saw a Veyron at cars & coffee in Portland a few years ago. It was, well, pretty impressive for sure. Everything about it screamed over the top exquisite.

The motorcycle rider. Good gracious, watching the front tire makes my heart stop.

Personally I own a Plaid as my daily driver (I have thought about doing a year in review post on here) and I can tell you, that in itself is blisteringly fast.

Of course, the guy riding the bike is probably the equivalent of an F1 driver, so if anyone is going to be able to drive the wheels off of the bike, it's him. Still, amazing stuff. I can't imagine a 10k clutch dump on a 200hp ducati. That's insane.

I've never been in a Tesla, much less a plaid.

I did once get a ride in this with Didier Theys driving. At the beginning, we got out on the first short straight and he goosed it. I felt the blood leave my feet/legs. It was a very interesting feeling. I can't imagine what a launch and accel in one of these modern 2-3 sec 0-60 cars is like.

I try not to get speeding tickets but will tell you: If sitting at a stop light, I can hit 50mph before I get through the intersection. Ask me how I know

Camissa is the best and Hagerty is killing it as well. Love his podcast the Carmudgen show.

My suspicion is that he hates drag race shoot outs, but know they sell well on youtubes, so is trying (successfully I think) to make them as good as possible. Lemonade from lemmons. His icons series on haggerty is better.

9.1 ET at over 155 is just insane in a road car. A luxury sedan no less. I have mixed feelings on weather its a good thing or not,

60 to 100mph is less than 2 seconds!

Should have explained more...I'll race any Plaid in Cindy's 2016 4 banger stock Camry..from Lebanon, Oregon to Burns Oregon and back. Around 400 miles. Summer only, though. I don't like driving the Santiam hwy 20 pass in the winter.

My pool shark "honorary nephew" loves his Chevy Bolt. I made him the same offer. His odds of winning would be about the same as mine trying to beat him in a race to 7 in 9 ball.

If you want to experience quick acceleration, Aerosmith's Rockin Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park does 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds!!! It's a lot of fun!!!
