iRobot Roomba question

My Roomba is 10 years old and still works perfect. Upgraded it with new longer lasting battery, new brushes, and new dust bin with added motor.

My problem is...the Roomba will clean all areas and different carpet and rug heights with no problem except for one place.....It wants to get stuck under the fridge door.
Over half the time, I find it when arriving home stuck/wedged under the fridge door.

I really don't want to raise the whole fridge up...the levelers don't have enough adjustment to help. Any ideas?

Stick on a foam bumper around the edge to make it a bit taller?

It would have to be something stiff/stout because the Roomba has good traction there (low nap carpet) and the drive wheels are strong. I fear it would just wedge in tighter.

And I already have a stick on felt surface around the Roomba that cuts down on the impact when hitting things.

Do you have a dog? I read a case where a roomba ran over dog poop and smeared it all over the house.

Do they make a lowering kit for the roomba? Maybe you can chop the top?

No dog...or cat to ride on it. The turtles don't care.

Do you have a Roomba virtual wall that you can shoot across the face of the fridge?

Yes I do...but the fridge is in an area that has another room off to the side of it.
It would be hard to block the fridge without blocking the other room.

I would like a fix that didn't mean setting up the barrier every time. It's set for thurs and sunday at 1PM. I'm always surprised when it starts up...if home.

Attach a piece of aluminum angle to the bottom of the fridge door?

^^^ That's something that I considered.
Might be the best thing to try...it wouldn't be seen unless looking closely.
And it would stop the Roomba from wedging in.

The only problem might be attaching it. Would prob have to lay the fridge on it's side to do it.

Your answer led me to think of another solution.....Instead of attaching to the door, maybe laying an angled piece of aluminum under the front two levelers. If it was white and angled out...I doubt it would be noticeable when the door is closed.

Might be the easiest fix of all.

Yes...I think that will work with the right length of angled aluminum. The weight of the fridge will keep it in place easily and the bumpers of the Roomba will hit it and back-up.

Thanks Fan for the idea.

We have a newer version (i7? from Costco) where the vacuuming software map allows to avoid certain areas from vacuuming. This has helped avoid several prone to get stuck. YMMV.

I was going to suggest the aluminum angle, but under the door(s) attached with double sided tape.

^^^ I just now looked at the i7. Lots of newer features than mine.
I like how mine cleans and would hate to part with it...it's been a real time and effort saver.

I would sure hate to not have it.

Great idea. Though not sure if that would stop the Roomba...the surface of the fridge is textured/dimpled. Double sided tape might not get enough surface on the fridge to do the job.

Roomba training school. Reward with treats as opposed to scolding. I love my Roomba as long as I never watch it working. You missed a spot!

I meant putting one side of the aluminum angle on the bottom edge of the door(s). Those are probably not dimpled. The other side (outer side) of the angle would be on the same plane as the dimpled surface of the front. Double edge tape is pretty strong.
