I guarantee that the military cares and if they catch them, they will be punished. At least if in the AF. It may be different in other services. |

You need to book ahead to snag some room in one of his cavities. Everyone here knows that. I just found out about this 9mm gifting business Monday night. I emptied everything and kept "stuff" separated and buried but not silly deep. I pulled back the slide thingie and locked it (Per advice from the member formally known as Cabmando). Also put a zip tie throught the barrell and joined the ends. Two West Virginia Staties were at the Taco Bell parked right next to me at a WV gas station complex. One held the door for me as my hip has been hurting bad and I was using my Dad's cane to go in and order two Chipotle Ranch Grilled Chicken Burritos since I learned about them from Steve the turtle guy. I said Thank you, Sir and I chose not to say "Hay you dweebs can't search my car without a warrent, right?" I thought that was pretty smart. I ate both burritos. Just over 1,000 calories. Drove on the rest of the way home just a couple miles over the speed limit of 70. Good day, though drizzily. |
I'm glad you had a great lunch!!
It could have been a lot worse...if you stopped at McD's :D |

A woman I knew told me a story that once upon a time...she was going over the Bay Bridge when she was stopped by the popo, somehow they had probable cause to open the trunk of her car..in the trunk was a padlocked tool box..because they didn't have a warrant to search the car they let her go. If there was no padlock they could have opened it and found 2 Keys of Coke in the box.

Interesting that they stopped at the padlocked tool box. We enjoy what the courts have named as a "reasonable expectation of privacy" regarding any such closed container, locked or not. Her closed trunk falls into that very same category. Essentially, if they cannot see it from outside of the car, it's off limits. That's why, when asked to get out of a vehicle, we remove the key from the ignition and lock the vehicle behind us. They cannot open the door without a warrant. Same "reasonable expectation of privacy". Doesn't work so well on a motorcycle... Closed saddlebags, or tank bags, even if it's just a zipper on the tank bag do, however, provide that same "reasonable expectation of privacy". |

I did get told to hand over my keys while pulled over in my 993 by a cop in an unmarked Camaro. But I think it was because he thought I might run.
