Sounds like she did a U-turn and up over the curb. Makes a nice hole in the side of the tire and a minor ding in the rim.

I've done that a few times myself

I'd prolly put it on the curb and see what Baz does with it :D....

LOL!

Looks like it would make a great hose reel.

Or maybe a nice seat for one of his bikini clad mannequins. Now if only they would turn into the young Kim Cattrall!

The picture is actually pretty life size.
I was thinking I'd take it to the recycling place to see what I'd get for it since it is aluminum. Big wheel, it weighs a bunch. If they'd take it I'd make sure it was in a non-op condition before giving it to them.
There is no tire on it either.

Nope, just sell it to the recycling place. They'll have it ground up in short order. I would not worry about someone else taking it either. But it's great that you are that concerned about the safety of others.

Is it actually bent or is that just the powder coat? If the powder coat it's prolly fine but it's your kid so maybe use it as a spare.

It looks to me like there's a tiny chunk missing out of the very edge of the lip.

Since you all have been so helpful and I happened to have the camera on a tripod, I thought I'd go out to the garage and shoot the damage so you can see just how bad it is or isn't.

I’d smooth it up with a sander and wouldn’t think twice about using it.

yes - smooth up and use it. You could put it on a front wheel? and spin it to see if it is bent for some other reason. That nick would not cause it to be bent.

Scott Douglas 12-10-2022 08:47 AM

I would tend to agree with you guys. Smooth it out and use it.
Guess I'll have to think about doing that and maybe send it or take it back to my daughter.
I've wanted to go back east to see all the museums and such back there.
