Too cold to ride a motorcycle, so I might as well go buy one.

I’ve been wanting a pre-1971 Triumph for quite some time. I’ve had a couple of post 70 Triumphs, and they just aren’t quite the same with that oil in frame. And I’ve always liked the Triumph T 100R Daytona since I first read about them as a kid. And now I have one! This one’s a 1968 and had a fairly recent restoration so there isn’t much to tinker on. Well, not much for a Triumph that is. Tinkering is almost a daily affair if you want to keep your Triumph on the road.

Congrats, Kurt.....it's a beauty!

I did some landscaping for a local lady who inherited a Tiger from her father. It was sitting in the corner of her garage. I think it may be a '67.

She also had a '64 356 SC Cab that was his......and a hot rod. How's that for a collection!

Baz, her dad had good taste in cars and motorcycles! I can’t tell if that is a 67 or not. I would have to see the other side to see if it is a single or a twin front leading shoe front break. It’s definitely been repainted.

Agree, Kurt.......bet he was a great guy. She's a pretty good person herself, although I only got to know her a little.

I really love that color on your new Triumph....congrats again!

Kurt V, very cool…looks brand new. An aside: when I was in the US Army in Germany in ‘69-‘70 we could buy a brand new Bonneville in a crate (ready to ship home) from the Canadian PX for $750! Thought about it but bought a ‘63 B convertible instead.

Is it time for a Lucas Electeic joke yet? Well...just make sure you have one of these on-hand and all will be fine:

Pre 71 triumphs are what started me on my sports car hobby. Love them.

Congrats. I've always like the Daytona, but I'm like Scarlett O'Hara and turnips when it comes to vintage bikes ("As God is my witness, never again!"). Liking the Daytona is while I'm looking at Royal Enfield Interceptors. ;-)
