Yes, a 30-year-old might have been married 3 times and have several children (but dating them after 60 was somehow suggested as misbehavior).
To be clear, I didn't say misbehavior with the age difference. I just said I don't get it. Having witnessed the later stages of these relationships, they don't end well. In the case of my son in law's father, he dumped his long time wife with basically no explanation. He then left the country, and started up a slew of relationships that his kids consider gross. They get younger each time. He's always been immature. They have lost a ton of respect for him. My main barometer in life is whether my kids, aged 30 to early 40's, will respect me.

BTW, back to the original topic, 3 of my 5 kids have tattoos. None on the face or neck. When my son was originally interested in applying for SF selection in the Army, he was worried about his 1 tattoo. Apparently SF guys were not allowed tattoos in the past. That is no longer the case. His one tattoo is minor compared to many of the guys he serves with.

There is a big difference between dating and marriage...even between dating and sex. None of those words are synonymous.

Frankly, if a person's children don't respect him at 60 because he is dating a 30-year-old...they never respected him anyways. Obviously, f the elder person exerts some sort of power of the younger one, that is different. Unless the younger person is mentally ill, too young to make their own decisions, is working for the elder or compensated financially...I don't see an issue.

The services have lowered pretty much all standards as there simply are not enough people that meet them willing to serve. Whether that was a valid one or not is open to debate. There were valid reasons why they were long prohibited.

Some of the kindest, nicest and successful people I've met in my years on earth, are covered in ink, have piercings and look "out of the norm".
On the other end of the spectrum , some the the biggest lowlife scumbags I have come across, wear suit and ties with $150 haircuts and manicures.

I learned long ago, and have grown to be open minded enough not to judge people just by their look.

I do not judge anyone by their looks (assuming they did not make themselves look that way). I pretty much do make judgements based on their appearance otherwise. You only get one chance to make a first impression...and that is largely what you have decided for it to be.

Having almost made it through my 7th decade, I can confess I don't like tattoos or piercings. I have to remind myself more and more not to "judge the book by its cover ".

I live in a beach town in CA that's also home to a UC campus, so I see a lot of tattoos. Some here talk of having tattoos that honor a loved one, or that commemorate some important event in their lives. This is great for them, but I doubt that the vast majority of ink that I see is in the same vein as this. It's hard for me to believe that the chainsaw I once saw on some guy's leg, or the hamburger with all the trimmings on a girl's arm, or the fish scales that covered most of a guy's visible skin, or the pair of handguns on the back of a woman's calves, or the skeletal bones on a guy's arms & hands, or the many floral motifs, cartoon characters, skulls, daggers, scorpions, and such that're inked on people's skin really have any deep personal meaning for them. It's sometimes rather surprising to see the lengths that people will go to in order to follow the herd.

I'd think that getting a tattoo would be a carefully-considered decision, seeing that it becomes a permanent part of a person's look. But after seeing some of the silly and somewhat ridiculous things that people choose to forever display on their skin, this doesn't seem to be the case for many. I realize that we all have different tastes, and that a tattoo is a reflection of someone's personal style, but until they went mainstream, I had no idea that so many people have absolutely no artistic sense whatsoever.

Tattoos are a trigger topic for some... This topic is as divisive as a "motor oil" topic in tech. People state their position and biases and that's it... Then there are those that post the pics of people who committed horrendous crimes, that have taken body modification to extremes.

And we have those that state they judge a person by how they look. The thought that anyone has that ability is amazing..

I have ink.. and its visible... not neck or face, but on my forearms.. The determination of my success can be determined by a glance?

I think if some of you saw my girlfriend and I out for dinner, or just walking around, we would trigger some....

I'm 62, she is 40, I have ink, and she does as well , hers are two beautiful fine line flowers tats, and a small tribute to her daughter who she lost last year.

The GF modeling an outfit for me in happier times..

I mentioned I'm 62... I just retired from a 43 year career as an engineer in construction management. I own my house and a vacation property and another property.. I've done well enough that I can pay myself my salary+ for the next 20 years discounting S/S and Medicare, The GF is a CPA, she immigrated from Ukraine when she was 22 went to school, became a citizen, Both of us are successful by most standard.

And a judgment of this can be determined by a glance by outward appearance.

My mother got a tattoo when she was in her 70's to see what all the fuss was about. She is also confused about all the fuss

This is one of mine, I came up with the concept, and found someone to bring it to fruition.. A combination of my zodiac sign, and my upbringing on the ocean and bays of Long Island... A cresting wave, setting sun, spindrift.

I am curious. Say this guy is your kid's shop teacher. Do you not make any judgement based on how he looks?

Whilst simultaneously hoping there is never any circumstance in which I find out.
