Worth waiting for 13 years. Beautifully made, immersive, visually stunning (I follow Jon Landau on FB and saw a lot of how it was made over the last 2 years) great script, incredible attention to detail, against a tried and true plot, long movie but the last hour goes by in 5 minutes. Keeps your attention the entire time. Looking forward to the next one. There will be a next one. IMAX is best for a movie like this.

Did they have an intermission? That is a seriously long movie.

No intermission, it is very long but you don't feel it. The first two hours you are engrossed in the visuals and laying out the new (and old as new) characters, their story and you sort of drink it in.

The last hour takes 5 minutes and it's over and you wish it weren't.

Pass

Aliens and terminator 2 were thirty years ago. It’s been downhill since then.

Any manifestation of, and there have been so many (looking forward to Babylon, Amsterdam being a bit, ok a lot, disappointing), Margot Robbie is OK with me.

The first Avatar was beautiful, and the 3D was pretty cool. I'm assuming this is kind of the same movie again?

Yep it's real & my son & his GF told me they're really looking forward to it.
- Not really my thing but compared to the average Super Hero movie?

FWIW: Mattel have sold well over a billion Barbies.

I like the Barbie intro. Ha.

If Legally Blond is a valid benchmark, I fear for this movie's success.

Not too excited about Avatar 2.

I'd like to see Avatar: The Way of Water, but I'm too lazy to watch it at the movies. I'll probably wait until I'm stuck on a long plane ride and watch it then.

Absolutely.

She wasn't bad in "Wolf of Wall Street" either.

The guy I bought the palm lamp and shelves from saw this one with his daughter just before I met him at his house to conduct the transaction and said it was good.

I'll wait until I can watch it at home.

3D films like this are best viewed on a big screen...preferably IMAX. Watching it at home, even on a 75" screen, waters down the experience quite a bit. I've seen the original both ways, and the value added by the theater's screen, sound and 3D tech is huge.

I thought there was another thread on this but can’t find it. Saw it yesterday with the family and WOW! I went in with the “yeah another sequel, meh” attitude and was really blown away by the CGI. The story is reasonable, took me a few minutes to figure out what was going on, but the graphics and integration between real and CGI people and things is flawless.

A few things that stand out; the eyes of characters close-up (not the sea people), the underwater creatures; someone had to think these up, produce them on computer then interact them with other characters and their environment - incredible.

Well worth seeing on the big screen in 3D!
