At our local Walmart. Never knew about this model before.
Looks like they are under $6K new, so very affordable. This size engine would be perfect for scooting around here too. I'd have to thin the herd though before getting one and they ain't happening anytime soon. But a guy can dream.....

There are some great small displacement bikes out there. My neighbor has a Grom. The Royal Enfield 350 Classic or Meteor = Love.

My son graduated from college in May and signed the two of us for motorcycle lessons at the local community college. Upon completing the riding course and getting our license I went motorcycle shopping and like used cars in the pandemic, the price difference between a new motorcycle with a 3 year warranty and slightly used wasn’t that much.
We settled on a ‘22 BMW GS 310 and it’s been a great starter bike. I like the way it sits up high, has plenty of power for riding around town and on the country roads (it will do almost 90mph), rides super well, and it’s been pure fun. I wish I discovered motorcycles some 20+ years ago when I was a younger man. I’m now looking at a 2nd GS model like a 750 so we can ride together (the 1250 seem almost too big for my needs). ![]() ![]() |

The new offerings from India are pretty cool, the small BMW's and the small KTM's, I had a hard time deciding between the BMW 310 and the KTM 390 for my wife. I do have fun riding around town with it but another 100cc added would be more fun, they do rev pretty high on the highway but that is to be expected.

![]() Had this 2021 Janus Halcyon 250 for a while. At first the small displacement was quaint and kind of fun but the buzz at higher speeds, wimpy acceleration and feather weight got old fast. Was easy on the eyes but there’s no replacement for displacement (or something like that). |
