Didn't watch Yellowstone last night,

Kinda fed up with it. My wife watched said they shot two dogs, says it looked real not staged. That's not nice.

Done watching if they really did shoot two dogs. BTW always liked Kevin Costner, and still do, but.....

It's become a postcard ad for Montana and country music. Literally NOTHING happened in this last episode (dogs were shot by secret service). We enjoyed it for crazy Beth but it's getting old now. Also I can't shake the feeling Costner truly thinks he IS John Dutton ;-)

I don't think any US/NA based entertainment would actually intentionally harm an animal. Maybe trained animals with some FX. Maybe good CGI. But I'm pretty confident that no animal has been shot or killed in a movie/show production in the US in the last 20 years. If there was, then I suspect it was an "accident" like in the Baldwin movie in the recent past.

I couldn’t get past watching the first episode. Just a bunch of rich, smug people who think everyone should bow down to them.

The new season hasn't caught my attention either. Especially now that I have to pay for each episode. I may watch 1923 but I haven't got high hopes for it.

That's what I always thought, not allowed to shoot animals for movies / TV entertainment, and hope it's still so.

Nope it doesn’t happen in USA-based films. American based films pay for an American Humane Association rep to be on site when filming any animal. I’ve seen reps on site for roaches and leeches.

The objective is just to make it look real. That's Hollywood....

There's a lot of truth in that show, California invasion, like Colorado it will be ruined... but it is getting old. Season five, it can't go on forever...

Yeah, I think there are rules. I've even heard that SFX folks will collect fresh road kill and put it on ice so they can have realistic stand-in critter. I'm sure that all filmed entertainment probably has folks that monitor all animal stuff. Plus, I suspect many actors would NOT stand for animal cruelty.

The missus was watching a show the other night that's had several animals in it that looked absolutely real, but I'm sure were not. One was a bird where the movement was a little stiff, but the other was a bear that looked real, and I still am not sure if it was CGI (my suspicion) or some other SFX.

My enthusiasm for this show is fading. Beth’s fights are the main reason. The commuted sentence and house arrest are a joke. The cowboy stuff is still the best part for me.

We started watching it when it first came out. Liked the scenery and the story line but after awhile the killing everyone just got too much.

I've never been much on Beth, load mouth bully, her husband too, she had trouble keeping her clothes on (well that wasn't too awful). In the big fight last week, I was rooting for Summer to teach her a lesson but it didn't quite happen.

Jimmy was my favorite, from a couple seasons ago. This new season, no fun to watch.

Gone off it's rails.

Liked "White Lotus" much better.

Stick with it fellas. My wife says this is the last season and it will conclude after the winter break.

You gotta stick around to see just how bad Jamie screws up. His new love interest isn't hard to look at. Fun fact... she also played Claire Dutton in 1883, the mean aunt / sister of Tim McGraw's character.

Me too. As a consolation though Beth did get a tooth knocked out.

It is one of the few shows I still watch on tv. This last episode was a bit dull compared to most episodes. I love the anti wokeness in this show vs what is on most other programming.

We had a rep for the spiders we used on "Arachnophobia". We had copper heat tape on a drain pipe that was to be loaded with spiders to come up out of the sink drain.

The rep said no go so the wrangler had to lay in the cabinet with a blow dryer to heat the pipe so the spiders wouldn't "get too hot and traumatized".

There are "prop dogs" you can rent, very realistic and weigh next to nothing. Perfect for the scene where an actor has to carry it. We usually name him "Stuffy".

They're making a spinoff about Jimmy and the ranch he went to in Texas.

Four Sixes.

Have never seen Yellowstone. Watched a few episodes of Outer Range which was pretty good. Wyoming cowboy stuff with a bit of supernatural mixed in. There are 8 episodes in total but my interest never lasts beyond 3 or 4.

The last good "modern day" Western series was Longmire.
