I somewhat remember the caps were either thin foil or cardboard circles that were pressed in the neck. I'm sure they weren't screw on caps.
The dairy that filled them was only a mile away from the school. Also, I think the size was more like 12 oz.

You are correct - tin foil and cardboard - no screw on caps

I kept wondering what was going to get jacked up enough to offset any increase in my Social Security. Just got our 2023 property appraisal. 25% increase. We can afford it, but I wonder about others who can’t. How many people sell their houses because they can no longer afford the taxes?

I remember in about 3rd or 4th grade taking a walking field trip to the farm/dairy that provided our lunch milk.
It was about a mile away and looked no different than any other small farm at the time.

About 50 cows that were milked twice a day...milk piped to the bulk tank.

The bulk milk tank was refrigerated and then it was drawn off and bottled and capped.
A refrigerated room was used to store it until the milkman would pick it up and deliver to homes and schools.

Nothing went up close to the SS increase. It doubled it or tripled it.

You looked at a set of tires recently?

I got an e-mail from Gieco at the beginning of 2023. "Your insurance is $106 for your cars". Last month it was $83. 27% increase

WT eff did I do? I just sat here.

MF a dozen eggs. Really?

Mine showed up this morning. Up $179 over last month's. No complaints!
