I agree with Pruett, the Porsche is a beauty.

Its remarkable how clean it is compared to the other GTPs. I speculate one byproduct of the clean nose is it will be more impact resilient. There are no dive planes to get clipped.

There is a model of this car in my future.

Although I really liked the sound of the high-revving normally aspirated V8s of the Cadillacs, the Porsches had that familiar muted turbo whistle, like an incoming missile flying along the ground

^I wonder whose 917 that is? The one from the Brumos Collection is #70.

Ferrari testing at Sebring now.

The Ferrari looks really good in person. Reminds me of the 333 SP Momo livery. Sound is unique (V6 Twin Turbo). They did not seem to be running the car hard today. Lots of in and out of the pits. Ferrari was also testing a bare carbon 296 GT3

You were there, Curt? Great!

URY914 01-24-2023 10:16 AM

917 #59?
A faked photo maybe?

CurtEgerer 01-24-2023 11:46 AM

There, yes, but on the outside of the fence :D Still, you're only 50 feet from the edge of the track with no obstructions.

That photo is from a Porsche video with Hurley Haywood so I'm guessing they changed the # for the video.

I think it's real Paul even tho the one on the banking does look like CGI. I think it's just the post-processing of the images.

I downloaded those photos I posted from the Porsche Motorsports facebook page. You would think with their resources they could do a better job.
