Thanks...the cue I bought Cindy when we were dating was an Adam. She still has it. over 40 years, it still rolls flat. Speaks well of their quality. Hers a "merry widow" style...no inlays. Anyway, still a popular production cue today. "Favored by pro..." is a bit of a stretch tho. Pros today "favor" who gives them the best sponsorship deal.

That's neat work. Back in my HS machine shop class getting pieces properly centered on a lathe always gave me fits.
I'd love to see how those inlay pieces are produced. I'm betting on a laser cut.

One other thing to look for...if the points are rounded at the tip, you're looking at CNC machining. If the points are needle sharp, custom hand work involved. Some try to disguise the CNC machining by placing fleurs-de-lis or something similar at the tip of the points. Inlays are pretty, but most treasured are full splices done by a skilled craftsman. I'll try to find a video... Click here to see some good splice work. Even though I've quit playing after some disappointing eye surgery, I still enjoy pulling my Keith Josey cue from the case and enjoy looking at it's four evenly spaced veneered and needle sharp points. A good custom cue is more than a playing instrument to it's owner. It's artwork...and very precious to it's owner. Always ask permission before touching another man's cue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4lRBZM_gFw&ab_channel=BobDzuricky (edit) Here's a better video on how a full splice with veneers is done. Links given because embed is too large: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsMdYxhVQSo&ab_channel=Studiotronics
