He is holding a stick with the camera on the end. The camera has software which erases the image of the stick , however you can see the shadow of the stick on the side of the aircraft as he prepares to exit.

Ok...I see it now. I didn't know that was possible.

Thanks. I wouldn’t have noticed if you hadn’t explained it. Now that I’m watching for it I can see he was holding his right hand in an odd position and you can see him pass the camera stick from his right hand to his left just after he jumps.
