RIP Burt Bacharach
https://www.theguardian.com/music/2023/feb/09/burt-bacharach-
The most lush, emotional, intimate songs ever. Covered by amazing singers and also performed wonderfully by Mr. Bacharach himself. Thank you, sir. |
The first LP I ever bought was his! I still have it and pushing 68. R.I.P.
|
How many of us have "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" on our minds when walking in the rain even after all of these years?
RIP Burt. You had a great run! |

Dad was a fan.
Wore out that Make It Easy on Yourself album and the soundtrack to Butch Cassidy, literally. Went and bought the both those albums and replaced them. The Carpenters did some great covers. That girl had pipes, could tear up a drum kit too. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ECEBexCwGwM" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
"This Guy's In Love With You " is on my set list. I sometimes turn it into a medley with Rod Stewart's "Tonight's The Night".
Best Les |
My favorite album of all time is "Painted From Memory" on which he collaborated with Elvis Costello.

Sometimes just puttering around in the garage I'll put on Burt B streaming on Amazon. They have a playlist of all the hits which are many. RIP Burt.
Dionne always did right to Burt's songs.... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bpoBISzUP4o" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
I'm with Tobra on this. Carpenters did Burt great.

Wore out that Carpenters album too. Second one had a little different packaging.
|
I too remember listening to the Carpenters albums when I was a kid.
Rest In Peace Burt Bacharach. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

Making it to almost age 95 is no small feat in itself.
