Has anyone tried to build them?
what exciters did you use.(wattage, size,?)
what material did you use for the panels

This guy has a pretty interesting channel. Lots of info in this video and on his site.
Might be worth a look.

I went ahead with my exciter order(2 for the highs and 2 for the lows, 2 per panel) still looking around for the correct foam board. 2X2 foot squares for starters they will end up strung from the beams in the palapas.

I think they are an interesting concept for ambient music and casual listening but will have limits for serious high end listening YMMV. (dont attack me.....!)

My main speakers (Infinity IRS Beta) illustrate the issue with most planar and non-pistonic drivers, superb clarity in very specific ranges which require multiple drivers and good old woofers for your low frequencies. My speakers address this via 2 towers with 4 12"servo controlled woofers. Yes, they are old and spectacular!

Doable, absolutely but you end up with a multitude of drivers, complex crossover networks etc which gets expensive and you have to question if it makes more sense to get something already built.

One of my speakers of the past were Dahlquist DQ10 which had multiple drivers and achieved great clarity (albeit very limited low end). Their sound was easily surpassed by M Logan and Magnepans with a 'single" driver BUT with outboard woofers.

I will build some as there are applications where this tech could work wonders. I could see multiple drivers, a carefully designed crossover and DSP (which I have not adopted on my systems) and a woofer/subwoofer setup.

I would like to see frequency response charts and SPL for these. The future is bright! The price of the components is low!

I should add that, the speakers in my Honda Ridgeline bed I think are DML transducers. I dont know for sure.
