I have a huge aversion to clowns as well. Which, may explain why my buddy and I dressed like this for fraternity initiation waaay back when.

(Hey Tim H. Sound familiar?)

Our kids (little ones back then) saw Killer Klowns from Outer Space (the one with John Vernon - remember Dean Wormer?). That totally ruined clowns forever in this household.

i worked for that company. years after killer clowns though.

we used to talk about the tipping point when clowns went from fun to creepy. i think it was Gacy. that one photo of kinko changed everything.

My second daughter who's 31 absolutely hates clowns. Looking back that started with Batman Returns 1992.
Danny Devito as the Penguin. Note the clowns.

Willard Scott lived in (retired in) my neck of the woods in rural Virgina (relatively close by). According to someone I knew, a younger person gave him accolades, and Willard, completely surprised, was thrilled, and grateful for the love. Once he had left NYC for the sticks, he hadn't gotten any recognition in some time. It made his day. I wish I could have met him.

Why don't people eat clowns?

Because they taste funny.

To my knowledge I have no phobias at all. Certainly not clowns. I was raised on Bozo the clown TV shows. It think it was either Bozo, or a local TV clown TV show that would have birthdays parties for kids on set.

I have never seen the move IT, or the killer clown movies. I just don't understand horror movies and they are of no interest to me, like vampire movies or romance movies made for women, not my cup of tea, so I don't bother watching them.

Clown fear is just one of the many thing in life I just do not understand at all. Like facial piercings or totally ripped up brand new jeans and green hair. It does not compute in my brain.

You are therefore in charge of your own density. (I think that was a George McFly quote)

The Gacy clown scared me considering the back story but I think the "recent" clown fear thing shook me up more than anything. No idea why but I am a little paranoid of them. Maybe it was the 800 YouTube videos I watched of clowns being scary.

Yucko passes muster for being acceptable to beer drinking Bob. Pick any 15 second segment and you know the entire half hour.
