Tabs,
Was your A4 from the DCM/CMP auction back in the late 90'S?

A knowledgeable friend said buy that rifle so I did. The one he told me to buy and I balked was an 1877 No 1 LR Sharps for 20K that CW Slagal had. ...coulda had it for 18K or so.. it was in superb condition..

![]() This one took me years to find...it is a 1923 03...original cond, bought after WW1 by a vet who served in the 28th Div. ..consigned along with other memorabilia by the family who no longer had any personal connection to him.. this was an attic/closet find.. I was looking through the catalog right before Christmas where it caught my attention...the finger grooves in the stock are sharp indicating that this rifle stock had never been sanded..from there I took a very close look.. Almost all of the between the wars 03's were reworked either before, during or after WW2..so to find one in near new condition is real tough to find..most likely it had to be a DCM sale to have survived in original cond. Something about this rifle makes it special...you can tell from the pix what it is..upon closer exam of the few scant pix that the auction provided my suspicions proved to be correct..
