Fun video...order one today, delivery in 2027? A biz model to insure the job will remain? "Sales are not our problem."
A similar Model? Southwest pool cues. Plan on waiting 15 years from order to delivery...(edit) Of course, you can buy one today from a flipper.

I wonder if I could get them to do a 914 for me. I bet with a deep enough wallet, anything is possible.

It's tempting to increase production on a high demand item, but it may also mean a reduction of quality. Evidently, Singer is aware of this as well...

Not sure we need another Singer-esque thread so leaving this here.

BTW: A nice "Australian delivered RHD 964" has a value of well over $100,000 AUD.

Talked to a friend who has a recent order in for a Singer...4 years, and some decisions on finishes to be made. It is an interesting process. Looking forward to seeing the finished product up close. I hope he drives it and doesn't just park it in his collection...

Last I heard, about 3 years for one of these. Sure do like mine...stiff hit with great feedback. Only thing I don't like is that I can't blame the cue for bad shots.

I am certainly not in the market for a Singer. But years to get "your" car and $450 and up for the price is just nuts. Yea, great cars, but a RUF is a new car in not that much more.
I can appreciate the quality of the Singer, and the business model.

I would love to see them do a 914-6. If I ever win the lottery, I would definitely want a Singer 911.

The Singer is getting old. By the time people get their cars they will look only average. I'd rather take the donor 964 and get to work right away. 6 months and done. Might not have an Ed Pink titanium crank motor but that's the last thing I need. Any 600HP Porsche motor will do.
Most 911 hot rod stuff is available bolt on. Rear bodywork being the opposite. |
