Good morning friends. a VASH update.

sorry i have been busy as hell. too busy to bother with the wide range of stuff happening here.

my mom is older..no old. and we had to move heaven and earth to get that stubborn woman to accept outside help. she is now hanging with some ladies 24/7 at her own home. she fell and hit her head twice and it was touch and go for awhile. WORST Thanksgiving ever. she needed her head drilled and drained. she never got along with her kids all that much and now it is haunting us.

work. my supervisor job is hell. fun, exciting, hell. i am hitting my stride.

JAn 2023, i woke up with a stuffed nose. hmmm..no covid. no fever, no cold. doctor was useless. she guessed sinus infection, but the antiboitics did notihing but bolster my antibotic resistance thing. haha. 7 weeks later and still stuffy. very little sleep.

i developed anxiety and panic attacks. i immediately called my doctor again, and this time i also called Mental Health. sometimes we need help. and i got it. i got tools to mitigate and more importantly, i learned about anxiety and panic attacks. nice to get familiar with the problem. plus i dumped a bunch of baggage.

my face starting hurting. right cheek to my ear..my jaw. WTF. we homed in with a team and it took my dentist to find the cracked tooth. root canal, and everything is plumbing up. no pain, and my sinuses are finally opening up. they MUST be related.

overall, i am on the mend. physically and mentally. with MOM, job, life, pain/health it was all too much.

things are okay now. i will fish Oklahoma again. i booked a Brazil trip to fish the Amazon River. eff it. time to live life. Wife and i are gonna do stuff together big time. next year will be team travel. for the both of us. i will follow her anywhere. this year, she is going to Paris on a "ladies trip". fack.

and i can still fit non stretch waistband pants, unlike CD-55.

i'll poke in from time to time folks.

Great to hear from you. We all miss the Vash threads!

Tooth infections can be bad pookie. They are right there, just inches from your brain, and the tooth infection can get into your sinus, and into the brain. For sure get it taken care of, but is sounds like you are on top of that.

Drop by more often!

Thanks for the update, Cliff. Glad to hear your Mom is able to stay in her own home (for now anyway) - just like mine!

I was jury foreman on a case in Daytona for a physician being sued by the family of a guy who died from an infection that began from a tooth - found not guilty because the deceased just waited too long to seek medical attention.

Glad you figured it out!

Thank you for the update, Vash. We miss you. Sincerely.

Oral health has a powerful effect on overall health.

Anxiety is a *****, but it also forces us to look it in the eye and address it. Which forces personal growth in multiple areas. My favorite tactics for addressing panic attacks involve breathing.

Also.....listen. And see. Step out of your head from time to time, and just look around. What do you see? What do you hear? Do you see and hear the birds? What does the air smell like?

Good hearing from you Cliff!

Surprisingly I've had the same sinus/jaw/pain that you describe. It started right at the COVID shutdown, the right side of my face/ lower jaw swelled up. Called my dentist who prescribed antibiotics to relieve the swelling (this was literally one week after they shut all of California down completely).

Things were okay until I got Omicron and then major sinusitis/vertigo. Still battling it, the weather barometric pressure sure doesn't help much. It really cut into my fishing, never even got a license last year!

Good luck with Mom, I know that has to be stressful. Maybe once things clear up we can get together and visit lowyder993/ Jim up in Nevada!

Ouch, sorry that you've had so much stress and poo in your life in the recent past, but glad that you seem to have wrestled it to the ground and made it submit!

Stay well, fella, and enjoy life!

Sorry to hear about the rough patch pal. You’ve become a legend here with your “Norman Rockwell” positive and interesting view of the world.

Hope the sailing gets smoother very soon

Best Regards

Raffi

Welcome back...and welcome into "that age"...where we talk of our various age related maladies more than we talk about cars...

Cliff, speaking of fishing...

I'm not long back from Rarotonga (near Fiji) and there were lots of big game fishing boats going out looking for tuna marlin etc. They were priced at between, umm, I'll do the conversion for you. US$125 to US$160 for half a day's fishing, fishing gear provided.

Wife goes to Paris, you go to Raro', seems fair.

We went to a typical wild and crazy birthday party for my MIL's 90s birthday. Nothing at all like turn 21 parties.

Anyway with two couples and my MIL the conversation was about hip, shoulder and knee replacements. My MIL has an upcoming appointment to get the battery in her pacemaker replaced. The winner of the operations talk was the man that had a pituitary tumor removed. They cut your face off at the upper lip, and fold it back to have full access to your sinuses, to dig down to the pituitary gland and do the surgery. Then sew back on the face.

I was the youngest person in the room and I am a genuine geezer on social security.

So Vash, you have lots to look look forward to with surgeries!
