I'm still a bit confused regs wise.. So, this 963 that is finally going somewhere in IMSA, is that 100% the same car as the one getting killed by Toyota and Ferrari in WEC ? (if so what does that say about IMSA cars?)

Here's a herd of platypus at Le mans.. right before the 350K crowd game me covid again..

They're identical, although BoP varies between IMSA and WEC. Toyota is an outlier because they've been running a Hypercar for over 3 years now and have a massive head start. Ferrari is Ferrari. Toyota, Ferrari, and Peugeot built their own cars from the ground up, those are true Hypercars (although they use the term for all the cars now). And they could run those cars in IMSA as well. On the other side of things, Peugeot is a true Hypercar and is getting smoked by the 'IMSA spec' cars. 'IMSA spec' cars use a spec chassis from one of 3 or 4 manufacturers. The BoP is supposed to equalize everybody. I think next year is going to be extremely competitive. Porsche is coming on very strong in WEC and obviously IMSA.

Also, not sure if you watched Fuji but Porsche lead 4 hours out of the 6 and finished well ahead of both Ferraris :cool:

Silly season: Sebastian Vettel, Jenson Button, and Robert Kubica to pilot 2nd Hertz Team Jota Porsche 963 in WEC for 2024.

Hopefully, these ex-F1 stars are more successful than Jacque Villeneuve who was 'Let go' after a few disastrous races. Kubica will have no problem - looks like he is going to win the LMP2 championship this year. Vettel and Button? Maybe ....

I saw it live because I was there. Jim Farley (CEO FOMOCO) and Adrian Newey were there with me. They were sharing a original Ford GT-40 but not with me. :(

I saw him several times in his garage and in the pits. He was very approachable and several people went up and chatted with and had pictures taken. One young fan in his 20's had his picture taken with him and as he was walking away he called someone and was grinning ear to ear.

Jim Farley was the same way. Talking to people and having his picture taken with them. He was always with a few guys tagging along.

Yes good eye! I didn't have a chance to talk with URY914 much this weekend but it was cool to see him and shake hands!

We did well and won our category (well my team mate did and I came in second). On the 2nd stint, one of the prototypes passed me and my teammate had just passed start finish which put me a lap down for the cumulative.

I won two the segments. We radio'd each other and I slowed down and waited for him for a photo op at start finish.

I won one of the other races, finished 2nd on 3 others and 5th on one sprint after an unfortunate spin on T1 while leading :(
