Haven't seen Luft 9 pics much
here's a curated version of a curated event ("curated is a Luft word"). yes the car were cool, yes the location was pretty neat... The most impressive thing to me though was the organization of the thing, in all senses. the artistic setup of the cars in the environment but also how many folks were there to give you your lanyard and not lose time, how well the buses would take you from the parking to the venue, how amazing the changes were from day#1 to #2. Luft is definitely a must see wherever it is next year.

Nice. Well the pics should be coming. I think unclebilly was there in the Turbo but he's maybe still on the road home.

Good pix. Thanks for sharing. I love those old IROC cars.
I think the 906/908/917 should always be photographed with a small child standing close by for scale so you can see how freaking tiny they are.

Speaking of IROC, I had chance to chat with Bobby Allison about a month ago at John Hotchkis' (Hotchkis Performance Suspension) 30th anniversary celebration. John introduced us and Bobby and I got to chatting about Porsche's despite all the NASCAR hardware that was present. I had forgotten that Bobby drove in the inaugural IROC race series back in '73-'74. He shared with me that he actually went to the local Porsche dealer in Charlotte (probably Barrier-Beck at the time) and bought a new 911 off the showroom floor so he could teach himself how to drive one before the series started. Pretty smart actually. Bobby ended up 9th out of something like 12 or 13 for the series. I certainly wish I had that first 911 Bobby bought and drove. Not as a cool as an actual IROC car, but still a pretty darn cool car.
