^^^ That at least tells others you are home....for one day.:)

MY neighbors would have asked first. ...and if I didn't respond they would let me know after.

...wouldn't have a problem either way because they'd allow me the same courtesy.

...because we're neighbors.

I do it all the time. Usually just before the truck comes in case they have last minute trash. I have an alley so there are many to choose from.

Don't get mad, only dogs go mad.

I do bring my cans in right away to avoid all the dog walkers that often put their doggie waste bags in the empty cans if left on the street.

It’s on these exact facts (because of course if you start changing the scenario, you can get into grey areas).

Trash/recycling day.

The recycling pickup is down the street coming towards your house.

Your neighbor’s bin is full, so he puts a bag into your half empty bin.

A couple minutes later it is picked up.

Right? Wrong? Are you mad at him for doing that?

Who cares. Non discussion matter. Would not give it a second thought.

In answer to the OP.
Nope.

I just don't understand some people .... and am really glad I don't sometimes :D.

A gift card to Weight Watchers would really send a message, lol.

I'm fortunate to have good neighbors and we all look out for each other.

Definitely time to light a paper sack of dog poop on her porch, ring the door bell and run. SmileWavy

You could TP her house, but that double ply toilet paper ain't cheap these days....

Crowbob 03-18-2023 01:08 PM

I was gonna suggest a dozen eggs but who wants to spend that kind of money?

billybek 03-18-2023 01:09 PM

I have used my neighbours trash and recycle bins in the past.
We have alleys behind the yard and no one would ever know.
I wait until I am sure they are not putting out anything more and use up the open space.
If I have a lot of cardboard I take it to one of the city drop points for it.

A930Rocket 03-18-2023 01:39 PM

Probably not. My neighbors must be out of town, because a trashcan was next to my driveway. I took a look at it, saw the address number on it and brought it to their house. Other neighbors have done that for me when I was out of town.

I just throw my trash in my neighbor's yard, hasn't been a problem so far.

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] I'm kidding.

Our neighborhood doesn't seem to have issues as this and as far as I know, the neighborhood seems to all get along.

How about when your trash gets emptied, and when you go to bring in the empty container some complete stranger has put their stinky bag of dog poop into it and it's a week before the next pickup.

Some folks go for that kind of stuff. Its like condiments, toppings and sprinkles.

Most interiors of a rubbish bin are far worse than a bag of turd that somebody was considerate enough to not leave on my lawn.

Seriously have other things that concern me far greater than whats in my trash can.

OK now we're talkin' about something that bugs me.

Dog walkers who toss their crap bags into my yard waste containers, who sometimes sit out for several days prior to pickup day. I use empty 30 gallon pots and my g-men know to leave the empty's behind after emptying.

Just seems a bit lazy to me not to take your crap bag home and put it in your trash.....

McLovin 03-18-2023 08:00 PM

Even worse/weirder than that, I see people scoop up the poop into a bag, tie the bag up - then throw the bag into the bushes!

Not sure what the logic is on that one.

sc_rufctr 03-18-2023 08:06 PM

Why not ask before putting rubbish in your neighbors bin?

The reason people don't ask - It requires some effort and there's a risk of refusal.

McLovin 03-18-2023 08:23 PM

My reason in this case was the trash truck was less than a minute away.
