Fantastic 'new' tool for changing dirt bike tires...

A few years ago I picked up the Baja no pinch tire tool. I ended up selling the dirt bike before changing tires, so the tool just sat in my tool box until last weekend.

What a fantastic tool this is for changing dirt bike tires. It took 2x as long to take the old tire off as it did to install the new one.

Every once in a while I come across something that just makes life easier.

And the KTM is now happy with new shoes:

That looks amazing.

My first tire change - about 90 minutes of sweating and swearing.

Next several changes - paid someone because it was such a chore.

Last one - installed Tubliss with LOTS of armorall (their suggestion) and it wasn't bad.

But this tool looks killer!

I used dish soap and it worked fine.

Thought about Tubliss but couldn't justify the expense right now.

It was for me.

The hardest part was lining up the valve stem and rim lock. After that it just slid on like the video.

I have that same tool. Bought it when I had my Ural and have used it several times. Much easier to mount tires, but removing the old ones is still a PITA.

Very cool, will be in the tool box soon. Seems every Trials tire gets more difficult to mount, this will help.

Never had any problems with tire spoons and a couple of Nylon sticks. You can put the tube and tire on at once but I don't.

That's a very nifty tool. One tool I have that I think is absolutely brilliant is my coolant refill tool. I don't use it often, but I never have to worry about burping a cooling system after I'm done.

That is a really cool tool. It must make installing a mousse a lot easier than before.

Now if they can only figure out a similar tool that can remove a tire from the rim in the garage the night before the big race.

I bought a No-Mar Cycle Hill tire changer 15 years ago. It lets you take the tire off and put it back on.

I've used it on BMW, Ducati, Motoguzzi, Vstrom, Suzuki M109, Kawasaki and last year I bought tires at Walmart for my VW TDI and change them.

Its a hobby level tool but it does work. You won't find one in a motorcycle shop. It takes too much time fiddling around getting the wheel locked.
