50 Years Ago Today...
2/7/74 saw the premier of this film...it was one of the first ones I saw and started to figure out that not all adults were clean-cut, upstanding citizens. Some were subversive, and rib-busting funny and/or entertaining as hell. There was a whole other world of fun to discover.
'Scuse me while I whip this out' -Sheriff Bart ![]() Did you notice the Hebrew lettering on 'Chief Mel's' headdress? As I recall, only three of the main cast are still with us: Mel Brooks, 97 (Governor William J. Le Petomane, Indian Chief, and Aviator Applicant), Robyn Hilton, 82 (Miss Stein, the ditzy redhead secretary) and Burton Gilliam, 85 (Lyle, the black-hat wearing railroad construction supervisor). ![]() ![]()

Yep. 50 years ago today: Wikipedia: Blazing Saddles
Going to see Blazing Saddles on a first-date, and watching her reactions would be an excellent way to see if there will be a second-date.

Get off my lawn!

It is still my favorite movie. When DVDs were first coming out, I waited to by a player until Blazing Saddles came out.
I went to see it shortly after it came out, and loved it all. I took a date to see it, and she laughed almost as much as I did. She was a fun one. I ripped my DVD to a file for a movie to fit my iPhone and had it with me always if I was stuck waiting somewhere. The later versions of the iOS make is vanish, and I can't get it back on my phone. I think about finding some software that can remove all signs of copyright so I can play my bough and paid for copy on my phone.

When I got a Blu-ray player, Blazing Saddles was the first Blu-ray I bought and it has some extra material, interviews and things like that.
Hilarious movie that would never be made today. I was actually thinking about the movie tonight at work, hadn't even seen this post yet. I was remembering the opening scene and started singing Camptown Races and cracking up!!! Sent from my SM-S916U using Tapatalk
