Should I buy this car?
Been pondering this one for a while. 1950s Alfa Romeo 1900 CSS. Anyone know anything significant about them? I'm looking for something a bit different and classy - this fits the bill?
Thx, Wayne ![]() ![]() ![]()

If you don't have any better use for 200 large, sure, why not?

Wayne, you of all people must know that posing that question will get you an answer in the affirmative.
I have a soft spot in my head for Alfas. The race cars of that era are unobtanium. That car is just right. Do it. Les

Very nice looking car.
How is the head room for you? (if you plan on driving it much)

Yes, and buy the property it's located at too. (England?).
That car in that environment is absolutely lovely. That car in a warehouse in America is an asset.

At 55 seconds in the guy's head is pretty close to the roof. But is it any different than an air cooled 911?
It does not sound like a powerful beast at all but it's beautiful

Wayne, happy to put you in touch with a guy I know that has restored many old Alpha's. He may have some experience in the quirks. Just DM me and I'll shoot his info.
Gorgeous car - I'm partial to the GTV's myself.

For sure it will be another car in your collection that when you drive it 99% of the people will ask what it is. Like old 911s or 904s it's looks have aged well.

I'm going to vote no, unless you already have a late 50's Ferrari 250 GT. If you have the Ferrari, then buy the Alfa, then buy a early Volvo P1800, and park them all next to each other.

I'm curious..do you know the ownership history? A deceased friend named Tony was once the caretaker of one.
