Here is hoping for the “more money than brains” crowd to make an appropriate showing! As much as I often mock that group, I’m guilty of cashing their check and never looking back.

The more money than brains crowd buys one thing on BaT: time. Which is priceless.

Time. Until they bring it to me and I point out the cracked engine case repaired with goop and many other non-disclosed issues. Happens quite regularly down at the store. However, $20K estimates do bring me a certain amount of time, deferred at a later date.

And wow, gorgeous car! GLWTA.

Beautiful car. I hope they didn't pressure you into a no reserve auction. I've seen some cars that should have gotten more go cheap lately. I think a lot depends on the day and time the auction ends. That car is too nice to not have a decent reserve.

The folks at BAT were very fair about a reserve and gave me a pile of comps that they based it on.

This isn’t a high value car in stock form and I really don’t know what a modified version yields.

I’m rolling the dice on pricing but figure I’ll make it up on exposure to a much broader audience than Craigslist and Facebook.

I’ll post the link here when active.

Fingers crossed and thanks for the good advice

Vin

Great looking car and good luck on BaT.

My father started vintage racing in a BRG MGA Twin Cam back in the early 80's. Looked a lot like yours, but with black seats. Had an integrated turtle deck, passenger seat aluminum cover, Dunlop racing wheels, hood louvers, and a hot cam 2.0L motor. Pretty fast little car that I got a fair amount of seat time in after he moved on to something faster.

The car was turned back into a street legal machine and sold through The Last Detail out of the northern suburbs of Chicago some years ago. Wonder where it is today.
