Make Bruins Great Again

No but it is a indicator of grumpy old men on the internet who nit pick a choice of multi-record albums because it has too many records and there is a law that says it has to be a Double album.

I like the Greatest Hits Albums in most cases. A lot of groups simply cannot seem to fill an album with good music...but put one great song each on a lot of albums. I guess that kept the money flowing. I just cant afford to buy them all.

Question for those that have responded or just reading the thread, is it a "double album" only because the original release was on vinyl and unable to contain the entire album on a single record? Many of these responses have been released on a single CD which can contain about 74 minutes of audio.
Anyhow, my favorite double album (2 CDs or 4 records) is Nine Inch Nails, The Fragile.

But ya couldn't clean out the pot seeds with a double CD cover... but by then there was no need too ![]() edited: Don't know about commercially released CDs, but in the early daze of mastering from DATs to CDs, 74 mins was the max .... then it went to 80 mins... most live shows took three, and you could fit a 75 minute "set" on a disc.... whew ![]() I have oodles of awesome Dead shows and other jam bands too.... triple disc shows.... just about every single one. 17 minute album sides sucked ![]() Last edited by KFC911; 04-16-2023 at 10:45 AM.. |

I still have CDs, but I haven't bought one in years. I do buy old vinyl. I think the question is definitely vinyl centric.

Nice album collection! Makes my neck hurt
![]() Reminds me of looking through two of my college buddies' searching for stuff to record .... one had around 600, the other 1000, and they trusted me. I only bought 8-tracks in Jr. and Sr. high school, then switched to cassettes in college, mostly friends' LPs recorded to Maxells and didn't start buying albums until my 3rd yr. and and then for a couple of years after.... then CDs appeared and I went nutz. Replaced a LOT of my earlier tapes and albums as they were released on CD. Spent 15 years browsing the CD racks .... probably have 1500 of those ..... then got into recording shows & mastering/trading DATS/CDs of high quality shows .... mebbe another 1500. At one time I had 1300 CDs loaded into Sony multi-disc players all ready play at the push of a remote button. That was my hobby for years ![]() Last edited by KFC911; 04-16-2023 at 02:33 PM.. |

One thing I really miss about vinyl is the quality of the cover art and all the lyrics and liner notes.

Nice shelving for your records, Doug. Alphabetically arranged, I assume?
