Another Roadside Attraction
Had a feed run to the local Mennonite feed store, owned by a friend of mine, Elam.
He went to an auction in Penn yesterday and came home with this, he paid $15: ![]() He doesn't know what it is, just that it is just a beautiful something. It is very well made, heavy, came in a very nice wooden box, etc. Looking now, any help is appreciated.

It has a late 1960's Bell Laboratories vibe to it.

Maybe a saw sharpening vise for a chain or handsaw...or for some similar blade.

Is it bronze and steel? If so, why bronze? Non-sparking?
