I see the original RR track outside of Vegas still shows up on the map. I ran that in a kart, went off with a flat tire and was covered in sand. I didn't dare try to drive the kart until it was completely taken apart. So I didn't care for that place. 3 others that are either not there or not used were Carlsbad asphalt course using the drag strip return road as part of the track as well as some of the pits. Same thing for Orange County Raceway. Ad then there was a temporary track at Lion country Safari and there is a road course at the Pomona fairgrounds. So in addition to the usual tracks like both Willows, Buttonwillow, Fontana, Firebird in AZ, I ran several. |
Road America
BIR (comp and donneybrooke) Blackhawk Autobahn south Gingerman Indy Road course raced them all in my spec miata. i personally find i dont know a track truely until ive raced it. putting in hot laps is no issue, but actually knowing the surface and track comes from running off line, where the racing takes place. |
I added Eagles Canyon and COTA last year. Both great tracks but I'd consider COTA a really great track. Something about high speed turns that gets me going plus the whole F1 relationship. I'll try to hit both again this year but they add substantially to my track budget.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1711585256.jpg Ozark International Raceway. 4 miles of corners, and 1,200 feet of elevation changes! Super challenging and fun. It is my newest track. This summer I will add Barber Motorsports. See post 4 in this thread for the other tracks. |

Long time ago, 70 events in a Formula Ford, all in the early 1970's. It was a very wild time with a lot of cars at every event. Fifty starters was not uncommon.
Riverside Raceway, short track, long track, NASCAR track, multiple times Big Willow, when that was the only track, no buildings, no fence, no potties, the pit lane was gravel, the paddock was bare desert, not at all like it appeared in Ford vs. Ferrari. You haven't really raced until you've field stripped a Hewland gearbox in a howling dirt storm when it starts to rain mud. Or raced in a snow storm. Ontario Motor Speedway, both directions Holtville, long & short track Carlsbad, very narrow except for the dragstrip Laguna Seca, when it was narrow & before there was much there in the way of amenities, the swamp in the middle of the track added a certain ambiance and curious flying insects Phoenix |
