Thinking about it, I'll change a bit. Oh, I really do think the Knipex Cobra pliers are great, but really...my favorite tool is the one staying where I put it, and not being used. That's because at age 79, tool use usually means I'll be experiencing some pain...arthritus, bursitus, back muscle, something is gonna hurt.

I don't have a specific favorite tool, but here is my wife's favorite. It's a punch she uses doing her "junk journal" hobby. She's an artist who does any number of artistic types of things. I'm not artistic, so I can only stand in awe of the different things she turns out. She sells her "junk journals" and has a following but probably makes only few cents an hour on them. The idea is you write journal entries on the papers she has in semi hidden pockets. Most who buy them say they would never mess them up by writing in them. I'll define my "favorite" tool is the one I would miss the most if I didn't have it.
This old 3/8 extension fits that definition. I've had if for at least 50 years and use it all the time. I don't know where it came from, but it went missing for a couple of months and I was really bummed about it. I can't explain why it means anything to me, but it does.

Timely thread and post from Herr Oberst as I was just looking at some of the fasteners on my E-bike that are rusting and thinking now is the time to start swapping them out for stainless. I just ordered a nut and bolt thread checker from Amazon which will assist help me bypass some guess work! CLICK

My fav. tool as of late is my Ryobi cordless impact driver......I use it almost every day! ;)

This is by far my favorite, and one of my most used tools. Have a higher end corded one also.

The guy that invented these definitely deserves the prize of 72 Virgins, loose women ( or whatever equal...) This thing is a godsend.

Yeah..who'd want a Matco box when they could have a Craftsman (At least USA made) stack like mine? 3 chests high, 26" wide, "Ball bearing griplatch". 15 drawers total. When I bought it, thought it was really more space than I needed. HA! Sure wish I'd bought bigger..

I went from this 6’+ high boxes stacked to the Matco, 6’ wide box. Soon after I bought the Matco box, I replaced some of the deep drawers for shallower drawers to get more space.

It’s something I’ve wanted for decades and bought used for $2K. New is about $8K. The guy I bought it from was a Porsche technician for Baker Porsche, here in Charleston. They ordered all new boxes for the service department, so there was consistency in size and color of the boxes.

Edit. I could use a side box extension, so I would not have to stack some of my tools.

Cutting, notching, digging…anything soft enough for the blades to go through…wood, drywall, plastic, etc.

I used my Dewalt cut off tool yesterday, to cut some drywall, defined a leak.

My favorite tool is my tiny Swiss Army knife with one blade, file and scissors. I find I use it many times each day. At times I may be working on projects in the house, in the barn, in the fields or on some of the equipment around here. Over the years I have accumulated tools to make the jobs easier (as have so many others here), but there's no way to single out one of them as a favorite. When you need to tension 1/4 mile of Electrobrade fence, your favorite surface planer is not that significant, no matter how much you like it. Time for the fence stretcher.
