My left hip is to be replaced May 24th. Every bend down to pick something up is uncomfortable.
Here is my new best friend: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1682254490.jpg |

My scissor lift is likely at the top of my list for a favorite tool. I use it often. I will envn put the 911 up on the lift to do electrical work, and especially for cleaning and waxing the 911. The rocker panels have paint all the way to the bottom of the car. And waxing the doors at face level is a lot easier than bending down or having to lay down and work overhead. |

For sure. I also watch several videos if I am doing something complex or completely new. Some real messed up people posting misinformation on Youtube. |

Likely we have all found a few gems that are the perfect how to, and some total goof balls that are simply wrong. But to be fair, there are many threads in the Tech section here that have some bad information in them as well. |
I was fixing a laptop, replacing the screen, I think so I checked YT. First guy I watched quickly detailed the process and pretty much disassembled the whole computer and reassembled it . Ending with, you could just send the laptop in with $119 and we will fix it for you. The thing is, he took apart way more than needed making the job look very complicated, I guess to scare people into paying him to do it. I did it my self with minimal disassembly.

Two - one "creator," one "destroyer":
The first is my ancient 3.2 amp (corded) Makita variable speed drill. Built a house with that thing during late '89 to early '91, and still get lots of use out of it...building basement additions, etc. etc. The second? My ancient Makita reciprocating saw. Great for getting stuff apart in a hurry. Haven't used it in awhile...but there when I need it! |
my Grizz...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1682301982.JPG
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1682301982.jpg no pics of fall leave collection, fall and spring manzanita hauling to the burn pit for property fuel reduction, outfitted with the weed killer 12v pump tank and wand, going 1/4 mile to the mailbox or down to where the ditchwater lines crosses the creek for repairs or sediment flushin..... love this thing. |

Get your ass on a pair of crutches, NOW. each day, go around the neighborhood, further and further. Take every other day off to recover, but push yourself like a biatch. Do push ups using said crutches. Take bad leg out of equation. Focus on good leg and two good arms. Swig raw eggs like Rocky. Yell "Adrian!!!!" Use your good leg, and build arm muscles. Practice on stairs. Up. Down. Repeat. Two days before surgery, shut down. Recover. When surgery comes, you will be rock star. I was out of hospital under 24 hours. |
