What are these Double Arrows suddenly on my JPG files?

Windows 10 user.

I'm viewing JPG files in the My Pictures folder.

Suddenly these double arrows are at the bottom of the files on viewing screen. This is on the root source of the file, not a link to the cloud.

they're JPGS, not video files.

how do I get rid of the them? Go into FILES / PROPERTIES or ?

Screen Pic attached.

Microsoft 'improvements' again? The thumbnail icon indicates it "opens with".
They got it wrong. Again.

You can change default. My pics are set to open w/Irfanview and videos w/VLC.
Still use the MS viewers such as paint and media player but less often.

I guess the Windows Desktop is now part of OneDrive.
I moved my default NewFolder save location to the C: drive and added a desktop shortcut because I don't want to automatically 'share' with that or the never-used Edge, which somehow still collects usage data...
I've even blocked those new features in firewall but they seem to revert.

Windows also keeps rearranging the file order randomly when moving files around and renaming, and it wont save folder view properties (i.e.list/large icon).
So annoying.

I think it's linked to Norton Antivirus and back ups.

Bingo.

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/blue-box-with-white-arrows-on-all-my-pictures/ee9ead00-5deb-49d1-9731-a6f1835f148b

Try this and see how you go...

Start Norton 360.

Click Settings.

Depending on your situation, do one of the following:

To turn on Backup Status Overlays, under Quick Controls, check Backup Status Overlays.

To turn off Backup Status Overlays, under Quick Controls, uncheck Backup Status Overlays.

Click Close.

FYI...

Green icon with a check mark - This status indicates that the file has been backed up, and it changes to blue icon with arrows if you modify the file.

Blue icon with arrows - This status indicates that the file has not been backed up, and it changes to green when Norton 360 automatically backs up the file during idle time.

Gray icon with a slash mark - This status indicates that the file has been excluded from backup. Norton 360 displays a disabled backup status on a file when you exclude the file from any of the Backup Sets.

I got tire of the MS BS and the malware, so I switched to Macs. Very happy.

iPhone wouldn't unlock when I had the camera blocked.
I'm a super model and charge $1M per picture.

If you still have a good PC sitting around not being used try one of the Linux distros.

I switched to Linux Mint more than 3 years ago... Zero regrets.

I switched to a Mac at the same time I switched to a laptop. Changed my life.

^^^^This. Ive been using linux since 2010, I think. Free and fast install. Many to choose from. Install to a flash drive and run it for a test drive. Dont like it, try another.
