A classic Chicago-style hot dog; a boiled or steamed all-beef dog on a poppy-seed bun topped with mustard, lime green relish, chopped onions, tomato wedges, a pickle spear, sport peppers and celery salt.

There are off shoots: you can char a dog, substitute Polish sausage (you can char that as well). I like dogs with sauerkraut and spicy mustard, Coney dog and chili dogs.

I could lose the tomatos. I'm not sure about the peppers, depends on the peppers used, but otherwise the Chi-dog sounds awesome.

The other stuff that you mention sounds awesome too, chili, sauerkraut, etc...

The next time I go to "Good Dog" I'll have to check one out. I am pretty sure that all of the ingredients at this place are special (not Sysco type stuff). I think it's all local to Houston, and everything from the buns and bread to the condiments is very tasty.

Oh God. As if I don't have enough on my mind, now I have to think about this?

If it's sausage (or zawzeege) then it has to be topped with grilled peppers and onions.

In the 70s there was a rock band that called themselves "Bread." I thought at the time if you're going to name your band after food, "Sausage" would have been a better choice. I still think so.
