Alita Battle Angel

Been waiting a year for this to come out, release has been postponed a few times. Saw it last night, it did not disappoint.

If you like sci-fi, chances are you will really like it. And I think future stories will be even better, this origin story was a little confined by the original manga. It was great but wasn't Avatar in terms of story. If this one does well, there will be more. Doing my part seeing it again tomorrow night, date's idea so that's good.

Absolutely must be seen on IMAX.

Sweet! Good news.

Son and I have been talking about it since late 2017-ish when the first trailer came out.

Even if you have to drive an hour, make sure you see it in IMAX Bob. Have fun!

I'd see it no matter what.

Mahershala Ali is the main protagonist.

Hands down the best actor to come along in a while.

He is great in everything he's done and everything he's done has been good.

good question. I can't speak authoritatively, I watched the anime 8 months on YT and it wasn't a dedicated viewing. Have seen one YT review though that says the movie tries very hard to honor the original manga and anime (from a true old school fan), even at it's own peril, which is a little of what I said above. I may re-watch the anime and will probably get the manga books.

The movie is pretty groundbreaking in terms of the effects, much in the same way Avatar was. But blue aliens are a little easier sell than the very human nature of this film. It is 100% real as you are watching it.

I've wanted to see it since seeing the preview several weeks ago. Glad to hear good comments about it.

One hour and one minute away to only real IMAX in NE Ohio. Westlake. There is an IMAX at the Science Museum downtown Cleveland, but no "commercial" movies.

Tickets purchased. 4:10 PM tomorrow.

59% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes (84 critics badmouthing/123 say cool), yet 93% audience score (4,280 peeps). 7.6 on IMDB.

We saw it this afternoon. We liked it, the action, computer generation is great now days. The story was pretty predictable and as we walked away, we both spontaneously said in unison, "Pretty teenagery." It was fun though and every movie doesn't have to be something deep. Of course there will be a sequel.

The language was clean except for her dropping the F bomb once, which seemed a bit out of character.
