I just run the plants through a wonderful machine called a cow.
If you don't want to eat meat, why make stuff that tastes like meat??
I actually believe eating meat keeps millions of cows alive. If there was no market for cow based products, no farmers would raise cows. Cows would be an endangered species in the wild.

I just dropped these 2 guys off at the butcher yesterday…

The way I see it is that cows turn plants into 2 products; one is meat and the other comes out the end of the animal… I’ve not sampled the latter but have certainly worn my share of it…

I thought humans ate steers and cows were for milk and dog food.

I was watching a restaurant show on Netflix. It was this guy that had an amazing restaurant in Finland. He actually was getting his beef from a dairy specifically because he thought that it was better than the meat that he could get that was specifically for it's meat.

"Fäviken was a restaurant located in Åre Municipality, Jämtland, Sweden. It was run by chef Magnus Nilsson between 2008 and 2019."

In this outtake, Evan talks to Magnus Nilsson, chef/owner at Faviken in Sweden, about using older dairy cows as beef. Most steers are fed grain and slaughtered between 22 and 30 months but Nilsson prefers to utilize the meat from older dairy cows that have been fed on grass for their whole life. Some of his beef comes from cows that lived to be 7 to 10 years old.

You thought wrong.

When a cow doesn’t get bred, they get eaten. Also only good breeding stock is kept for breeding, the others are sent to feedlots to be fattened up for beef.

That has always escaped us. :(

I tried them and they did not suck at all. And no farting. :)
Insect burgers, also good.
Meat still tastes better though IMO.

Good for you but I would't knowingly eat a "meat analogue". The real deal or nothing.
- I also like veggies, fish and fruit.

Late 70s Australia: Burger King opens one of their first fast food restaurants in our area (Re-branded as "Hungry Jacks"). Before that there were only Mom and Pop fast food shops/outlets. There wasn't a lot of choice back then.

My dad was a butcher and he suggested we try it as a family treat... And we all farted like troopers the next day. :(
I'm not 100% sure but I think that was the last time my father ate fast food.

I'll be here all week...do everyone a favor and forget to tell your waiter you are a vegan.

Too late?

Since this old thread was brought back, I thought I'd add that the woman only needs to buy one of those 4 foot shop fans and blow the smell on by. But honestly, a fire of your own kills smells.

I don't get vegan. No meat I get. But it's 'meat products' that I don't like. That includes anything made to taste like meat even if no meat used. I had some meatless sausage once and it was damn good. What's the point? Do I need sausage in my life? Nope.

Yeah, and lab grown meat? Hell no!

Funny thing, I haven't seen this sort of comment in the poor parking posts. ;- )

Q: How do you know if someone is a vegan (or an electric car owner)?

A: Wait 5 minutes, they'll tell you. Again and again and again ....

The pussy move was to publicize the complaint.

Neighbors do annoying crap all the time. When I briefly lived in an apartment, my neighbors cooked Indian curries everyday. About made me nuts. I asked about it and quickly noticed it was a family from India. Whatever.
