Racing with Giants: Porsche at Le Mans
In case you missed it, Hagerty recently released an awesome new documentary which takes an in depth look at the last 100 years of Le Mans and the history of Porsche's involvement in the race, from their first 1951 1,100cc class win to the modern day 963. Narrated by Patrick Dempsey, this well put-together video is certainly worth a watch: If some of the cars in the background look familiar, that's because 6-time winner Jacky Ickx and 5-time winner Derek Bell filmed their interviews in none other than the Dempsey Motorsports garage! Needless to say, it was a bit of a surreal experience watching these two "Giants" tour Wayne's collection and recall various memories from their decades behind the wheel- Wayne even managed to get them to take a spin on his 1/32 scale Le Mans track (be sure to watch the credits at the end).   |
