Wheel offset
I have 17” rims that are 50 and 55 offset. Am I stuck getting those offsets or can I get others. I can’t find any my size that are not the rims I am trying to get rid of.
Thanks. |
The wheels I am looking at are 43’s.

We need a lot more information. What vehicle, what is the current setup, etc, etc
|
Are those wheels stock/OEM sizing? You can always get wheels with an even higher offset and use spacers to make them fit.

As stated, it's going to depend heavily on the vehicle.
The offset could impact if you get fender rubbing or rubbing on the suspension. You could have tons of space to change the offset without any impact at all or you may have very little wiggle room. You may be able to change the offset and then compensate as asphalt gambler said. Or maybe you want the wheels to stand out a bit more to be closer to flush or even stick out of the fenders a bit. Depending upon the vehicle, you may be able to find folks that have strayed from stock sizes to get more info without needing to perform trial and error. |
1999 Boxster. I just found out I have to consider bolt pattern too. I want to stay with 17”’s. I just prefer the look.

Because it's uncommon there are not a ton of aftermarket options, the demand is not really there. The only other brand that I know of who standardizes on it is SsangYong, South Korean automaker who makes SUVs and cross overs exclusively. |
FWIW...

I used this extensively, when looking for wheels and tires to fit my 330.

Based on reading above, I found and bought some Boxster 17” 5 spoke I like. Price was right and should modernize a little. For my purposes, I feel the 17”s ride better and visually make the car appear smaller. That and I’m trying desperately not to spend to much on this one. Thanks all.
