MANY years ago headed to prom in my Jr year of HS. My car was an old '65 impala with a 4 speed. My g/f had a much newer Nissan pulsar. It was super slow and an automatic. We drove it to prom with me driving. Driving through traffic going from dinner to prom, I wanted to go faster so I pressed the clutch to the floor except that instead of the clutch it was the brake pedal that I stomped. Fortunately we had only just pulled away from a light and were probably only going 15-25 m.p.h.

I watch those fancy rallye videos with the left leg braking and the right on the gas, and try it in my car, being darn careful of how powerful the clutch leg is. Last edited by LEAKYSEALS951; 06-15-2023 at 07:22 PM.. |

As for muscle memory, I've had my SE-R for 30 years and the little movement to extend my ring finger to push the ignition release button when I turn the key to take it out has been automatic for almost all of those 30 years.
