Had my 996 seats reupholstered
Received a text from the shop about 30 minutes ago my seats are almost ready for pick up . They just need a final steaming . Seats were originally all gray leather but pretty shot . There was just too much gray in the interior for my taste . And I wanted to go a little bit old school . Here are the results what do you think ? I pick them up either tomorrow or Friday pending the weather .
The shop added some foam to the bolsters and the seat bottoms . Also added lumbar support to the front two seats . That should make them much more comfortable . This wasn't cheap but you only live once ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wow! They turned out great. Can't wait to see pix in the car!
Next a plaid insert into the door cards?

I think the tartan plaid looks fantastic. The pattern almost exactly matches the upholstery in my GTI.

I have to get them installed and live with them before making any additional changes . I am trying to balance the red/black/gray . In addition to the seats I changed the shift boot to black with red stitching . The shift knob is aftermarket black .
The center console is black and gray . The carpet is gray but with black herringbone Coco mats . My wife is sewing up a black fleece carpet mat to cover the storage area behind the rear seats . I have a vision but it might not be 20/20 😋 |

The exterior is black . I plan to add red mirrors , red brake calipers and some mild red vinyl graphics . It makes sense in my head .
