July 8, 1984 - U.S. Grand Prix in Dallas

The race starts at 11am: it's hot, the track is full of bends and the asphalt is wack, the drivers are suffering.

I was there, hot as balls. Many DNFs.

I do not disbelieve in anything. I start from the premise that everything is true until proved false. Everything is possible.

Climate wise, it is definitely a miserable hell hole here, for most of the year (almost no days that are cool with low humidity). You should see the upcoming ten day forecast - no low temps below 80 and lots of predicted highs of 105-107, and it's not even August or September yet. Sux bigly for sure.

I assume it’s going to get worse. Any idea what it’ll be like in, say, 2050?

Serious question. I wonder if parts of the US will start losing population because of heat, or if lifestyle/culture will change (e.g. how will higher temps affect ranching).

I was 16 and I was there. I was an F1 fan from a young age so a friend and I got tickets on the backstraight and drove up from Houston. Man it was hot. I remember the 930 DP doing hot laps; I don't remember if it was also a pace car. I also remember the hot young lady next to me in the stands with no bra and big slits in the side of her top. I spent half the time watching the race and half the time watching for one of boobs to fall out! Ahh, the memories of my youth!

The sound of those turbo engines was incredible!!!
