Back in a P-CAR cheap JDM Boxster project !

I just bought this super cheap Porsche Boxster in Japan !

I had an SC and a 964 back when they were 'affordable' this is the only Porsche sports car that I can afford these days...( spoiler $5200 after all auction fees ! )

I think I got a good one...check out my project and first video.

Very cool! buttons smashed, etc...

You're killing me. I miss Japan. I was last there in 1985. We lived in the far north end of Honshu both times that we lived there.

The car looks great. Low miles and nice price!

Dan, I watched your video this morning on the heater blend door foam fix.

You may want to check out the following video. It looks like it's not actually 2 methods of fix (the one that you did OR the one via behind the radio. It looks like those two are actually fixing 2 different foam covered doors. I'm guessing one is the hot/cold/fresh air, and the other may be for which vents the air comes out inside the car.

This is in a 911, but I think it's similar. And the guy making this video, Yogi, sounds like Kurt Russel to me.

This was another video that I saw for the "via the trunk" method that is more boxster/cayman specific.

I’m not sure about other methods. Everyone said going through the front of the dash was the easiest and would stop the foam from blowing out the vents, give better heat and stop the AC from blowing on the bottom of the windshield (causing fogging).

So I followed the advice. Now no more problems

Very easy DIY

In this video, you can see that there are actually 2 separate doors in 2 different parts of the dash.

This guy didn't initially realize that he had to fix both doors. He did the fix in two 996 in the video.

door accessible from the frunk
car #1

car #2

And then in car #2, this is the door accessible by going through the stereo hole and cutting a hole in the ducting.
