It's stated that eVTOLs (air taxis) will use existing infrastructure like heliports and vertiports. There are very few of those as it is. Watch how the public will react when you propose a new heliport or vertiport in their town. NIMBY...

It's stated that air taxis will use corridors with multiple flows of traffic between airports and city centers. Imagine freeways in the sky. NIMBY...

Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is progressing and it will be here someday soon but I believe the planners have underestimated the pushback they're going to receive from residents/homeowners who want nothing to do with air taxis flying over their heads or living anywhere near a vertiport.

And homeowners will have to start carrying insurance from falling aircraft from under-insured or lapsed insurance piloting. Look at the average car on the road, neglected maintenance, lousy drivers. Just imagine the average drunk trying to fly home.

I certainly hope all of those aircraft are 100% required to run ADS-B broadcast all the time, and can't be turned off. There are still aircraft colliding in the air. Imagine lots more inexperienced owners up flying around. It is a scary thought.

Personal, private ownership will be a long ways off. The first ones are going to companies wanting to provide taxi rides to the airport and similar sorts of flights. They will be certificated, insured and tracked.
